Hello, I am Brenden

I believe therapy is a collaborative process between you and me. Together, we will untangle issues that no longer serve you.

    About Me

Hello! I am Brenden Yuh-Jang Mei. Welcome to my practice!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a professional therapist in California with over five years of experience across diverse settings. My work includes supporting neurodivergent individuals in an autism specialty clinic, providing early intervention for children and families, and facilitating trauma healing for Asian Americans and immigrants in community mental health.

My diverse experience allowed me to work with clients from different backgrounds and developed the sensitivity to each client's unique strengths and needs.

I am trained in a number of evidence-based approaches, including CBT, ACT, Narrative Therapy, and EMDR. I thoughtfully draw from different modalities in my work to provide each of my clients an individualized experience.

My goal is to support my clients, and hopefully one day you, to live a fulfilling life you want with confidence and growth.

    My Life & My Passion

A little bit about myself ~~

I was born and raised in Taiwan and immigrated to the US as a teenager. My personal journey significantly shaped my passion for mental health and my clinical orientation.

Growing up in a traditional East Asian household, I was taught to value academic excellence, discipline, and compliance. While these experiences helped me achieve and adapt in many ways, they also came with emotional challenges that took time and intention for me to understand and heal.

My own healing journey has shown me that, though it does not come easy, it is possible to live differently—and more authentically—than what we were taught as children.

With this belief, I aspire to support clients who are navigating similar struggles, particularly anxiety, family-of-origin trauma or identity struggles to grow and heal.
